The Sleepy Moon and the Little Star

The Sleepy Moon and the Little Star

A sleepy moon smiling at a small twinkling star in the night sky, bedtime illustration for kids.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

High above the clouds, the Moon yawned.
He looked at his sky full of stars and said softly, “It’s almost bedtime, little ones. Let’s shine gently so the world can sleep.”

But one small star named Tiku twinkled brightly and said, “I’m not sleepy yet! I still want to sparkle!”

The Moon smiled. “You’ve been shining all evening, little Tiku. Even stars need rest.”

“But what if the children below forget me while I sleep?” Tiku asked sadly.

The Moon chuckled. “The children will never forget you. When they look up at the night sky, they’ll see your light in their dreams.”

Tiku thought for a moment. He peeked down and saw a little girl waving at the sky from her window. “Good night, stars!” she whispered.

Tiku felt warm inside. He slowly dimmed his light and snuggled next to the Moon.

“See?” said the Moon. “Even dreams have stars that shine softly.”

Tiku closed his eyes.
Down below, the little girl whispered again, “Good night, little star.”

And high above, a tiny twinkle answered, “Good night.”
