The Pencil Who Forgot to Write

The Pencil Who Forgot to Write

A cute cartoon pencil writing on paper with a smiling eraser beside it, children’s story illustration.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a small wooden pencil box, there lived a shiny new pencil named Piku.
He had a sharp point, a smooth body, and a bright pink eraser on his head.

Every morning, he loved watching the little boy, Rohan, write beautiful letters and draw funny pictures.
Piku dreamed of writing like that too.

One day, Rohan bought a new pen.
He placed Piku in the corner of the box and said, “I’ll use my pen today.”

Days passed. The pen kept writing, but Piku just lay there quietly.
Dust gathered on his body, and his sharp tip became dull.

One afternoon, when Rohan tried to write a note, his pen ran out of ink. He reached for Piku again.

But when he tried to write, no mark appeared on the paper!

“Oh no!” cried Piku. “I’ve forgotten how to write!”

The eraser whispered softly, “Piku, you just need to believe in yourself again. Your graphite is still inside — that’s where your real strength lies.”

Piku closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and tried again.
This time, a faint line appeared. Then another.
And soon, beautiful letters began to dance across the page.

Rohan smiled. “Good old Piku! You never forgot how to write — you just needed a little trust in yourself.”

That night, Piku shined proudly in his pencil box again.
He had learned that what matters most isn’t being new or perfect — it’s never doubting your purpose.
