The Little Lantern and the Wind

The Little Lantern and the Wind

A small glowing lantern beside a garden path at night, bedtime story about a little lantern
Reading Time: < 1 minute

One quiet evening, a little lantern glowed beside a garden path.

Its warm light helped rabbits find their way home and guided sleepy birds back to their nests.

The lantern was happy to help.

But as the night grew darker, a gentle wind began to blow.

Whoosh…

Whoosh…

The little lantern flickered nervously.

“Oh dear,” it whispered. “What if the wind blows out my light?”

The wind heard this and slowed down.

“Why are you worried, little lantern?” asked the wind softly.

“I want to keep shining,” said the lantern. “Everyone depends on me.”

The wind smiled.

“You do not need to be the brightest light in the world,” it said. “You only need to shine where you are.”

The lantern thought about this.

The rabbits could still see the path.

The birds had already found their nests.

Everything was peaceful.

The little lantern relaxed.

Its light glowed warm and steady.

“Thank you, Wind,” it said.

“You are welcome,” whispered the wind. “Even small lights can make a big difference.”

The lantern shone softly through the night.

And under the stars, the garden rested peacefully.

“Good night,” whispered the lantern.

The wind carried its gentle words through the sleeping garden.

And everything was calm.
