What Would Krishna Say to Kids Today?

Illustration of Lord Krishna speaking to children in a modern park setting
Reading Time: 2 minutes

It was a warm Sunday morning. Birds chirped, flowers bloomed, and children filled the park with laughter. Amid all the fun, little Aarav sat quietly on a bench, looking worried.

Just then, a glowing blue light shimmered near him. With a soft whoosh, a kind figure appeared — a boy with a peacock feather in his crown, wearing yellow silk and holding a flute. It was none other than Lord Krishna!

Aarav blinked. “Are you… Krishna?”

Krishna smiled. “Yes, dear Aarav. I heard your heart. You seem troubled.”

Aarav nodded slowly. “I’m scared. My friends laugh when I talk in class. I get nervous during competitions. And sometimes, I just feel… not good enough.”

Krishna sat beside him. “Let me tell you something. Even when I was a child, I had to face many troubles — from angry kings to giant snakes! But I never let fear win.”

Aarav’s eyes widened. “You weren’t scared?”

“I was,” Krishna said gently, “but I learned to smile through it. Do you know the secret?”

Aarav shook his head.

Live life with courage and calm, no matter what happens. You may win or lose, but your spirit must stay steady — like the ocean. That’s called equanimity.”

Aarav tried to repeat the word. “Ee-kwa…”

“Equanimity,” Krishna said again, chuckling. “It means staying calm and kind whether someone praises you or teases you.”

“But how do I become brave?”

Krishna held up three fingers.

“First,” he said, “believe that you’re special. You are made with care, just like every star in the sky.”

“Second,” he continued, “don’t fear mistakes. Each one teaches you something precious.”

“Third,” Krishna added, “always do what’s right, even if it’s hard. That is true courage.”

Aarav smiled. “I think I understand. I should try, even if I feel scared?”

“Exactly,” Krishna beamed. “Courage is not the absence of fear. It is choosing to act despite it.”

Just then, Aarav’s friends called him to join a race. Aarav looked at Krishna.

Krishna nodded. “Go. Run. And remember, every step you take with courage is a victory.”

Aarav ran off, heart lighter than ever.

Krishna disappeared, but his flute music echoed in the breeze, whispering to every child:
