At the Bus Stop: A Simple English Story for Daily Conversation

A young man helping an old man at a busy bus stop in an Indian city
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Ravi was standing at a bus stop early in the morning. He was going to his office. The road was busy, and many people were waiting for the bus.

After a few minutes, an old man came and stood near him. He looked tired and held a small bag.

Ravi noticed that the old man was looking confused. He walked closer and asked, “Are you waiting for the city bus?”

The old man smiled and said, “Yes, but I am not sure which bus to take.”

Ravi said, “Don’t worry. I will help you.”

Just then, a bus arrived. Many people rushed to get in. Ravi checked the number and said, “This is your bus.”

The old man looked happy but was still worried about getting on the bus.

Ravi helped him step inside safely. He also told the conductor where the old man wanted to go.

The old man thanked Ravi and said, “You are very kind.”

Ravi smiled and said, “It’s okay. Have a safe journey.”

The bus left, and Ravi felt happy. He realised that helping someone, even in a small way, can make a big difference.
