Reading Time: < 1 minuteMilo the mouse sat by his little door and watched the sky.
He was waiting for Dadi Mouse. She had gone to fetch something special and promised to be back before the stars came out.
But the stars were already coming out.
One. Two. Three.
“She’s taking too long,” Milo said with a sigh.
He went inside. Came back out. Went inside again.
Then he remembered what Dadi Mouse always said.
“Busy hands make a short wait, Milo.”
So he tidied his little corner. He folded the cotton wool neatly. He swept the crumbs into a small pile. He even planted a tiny seed in a pot of soil, pressing it down gently with one finger.
He watered it with exactly three drops.
When he looked up, Dadi Mouse was standing at the door, warm and smiling, a small piece of sesame chikki wrapped in a leaf tucked under her arm.
“You waited,” she said softly.
“I kept my hands busy,” said Milo.
Dadi Mouse looked at the little pot in the corner and smiled even wider.
“Some of the best things,” she said, “take a little longer to arrive.”
Milo looked at the pot. Just soil for now. But something was in there, quietly becoming.
Just like Tuesday.
Goodnight, Milo. Goodnight, little seed. Goodnight, long Tuesdays.
