The Tiny Raindrop's Dream

Story

High in a soft grey cloud, lived a tiny raindrop named Boondi. She was the smallest raindrop in the whole cloud.

"I'm too small to matter," Boondi sighed. "The big raindrops fall first. Nobody will notice me."

Beside her, a plump raindrop named Dolu plopped over the cloud's edge. "Bye, Boondi! See you down below!"

Boondi watched him fall, far and fast, until he disappeared into the misty night.

"I'll just stay here," Boondi whispered. "I'm not big enough to make a difference."

The wind passed gently by and paused. "Why are you waiting, little one?"

"I'm too small," said Boondi. "What good can one tiny drop do?"

The wind chuckled softly. "Have you ever seen a flower drink only the biggest drop?"

Boondi thought about it. She hadn't.

"Every drop helps something grow," said the wind. "Big or small, it doesn't matter to the seed waiting below."

Boondi looked down. Far beneath her, a small marigold seed sat in the warm soil, waiting quietly in the dark.

Boondi took a breath and let go.

She fell softly, gently, landing right on the little seed with a tiny, perfect splash.

"Thank you," whispered the seed, feeling her warmth sink in.

Boondi smiled as she settled into the earth. She hadn't fallen far. She hadn't made a big splash.

But somewhere below, a tiny seed felt less alone.

And that was enough.

Goodnight, Boondi. Goodnight, little seed.
